The Center for Public Policy, in partnership with the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention in Prague and Prof. Timothy Hope, Department of Criminology, Keele University, has launched a project called Training of Social Services Providers in the Area of Crime Prevention and Social Inclusion of Youth. The project is implemented in two forms – one is intended for the city of Prague only (this portion of the project is funded by the European Social Fund, the Czech National Budget and the Municipality of Prague). The other is intended for different regions of the Czech Republic (this portion is funded by the European Social Fund and the Czech National Budget). There are two main outputs of the project: the first is a publication serving as a text book for participants of the training course and the second is a training session. The main aim of the training is to provide the opportunity for professionals dealing with at risk children to enhance their knowledge about the theory of social crime prevention, program planning, implementation and evaluation. The training courses organized within the framework of the project will provide the participants with an exceptional opportunity to learn from local and foreign experts, to discuss the key issues related to the methods and strategies of social intervention, and to exchange experiences with colleagues dealing with the various aspects of the problem of at risk children.
