The Center provides analysis and alternative solutions on a wide spectrum of public policies in the Czech Republic in order to improve the governance of public matters and resources.
Center for Public Policy (Centrum pro veřejnou politiku - CPVP) is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organisation. It was established in 2003 in order to support independent policy research in the Czech Republic. It provides a platform for Czech and international experts to carry out research in various areas in order to provide in-depth policy analysis. Based on objective qualitative and quantitative analysis, the CPVP strives to provide innovative solutions. The aim of the CPVP is also to contribute to the international discussion of economic, social and security issues.
Among the CPVP's principles are policy efficiency, good governance, and public accountability. The CPVP also contributes to the identification of best practices and their transfer to the Czech environment. The Center addresses policy formulation not only on the national level, but also on regional and local levels. The main current activities of the Center include short term Spring/Summer Institutes on Future of Europe: Lobbying in Brussels and Summer School on Crime, Law and Psychology for university students from around the world. Since January 2006, the Center for Public Policy has implemented a training project for the social services providers in Prague and Czech Republic on topics related to youth crime prevention.
Our activities are supported by: European Social Fund , Czech Republic State Budget and the Municipality of Prague.
