The Center for Public Policy was established in 2003 and is actively involved in training projects. Between December 1 and December 21, 2003, the CPVP prepared and provided a number of trainings about EU Structural Policy and use of EU Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund for officials of the Czech Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
In the spring of 2004, the Center launched the European Spring Institute on the Future of Europe: Lobbying in Brussels(ESI). Since that time, the Center has organized Spring and Summer Sessions on EU Lobbying. To date, ESI has invited over 300 students from reknowned universities all over the world to experience an academic week in Prague.
In the summer of 2006, the Center launched a new project, Summer School on Crime, Law and Psychology(CLP), organized in cooperation with professors from the University of Aberdeen and Warwick University, UK. In 2006 and 2007, CLP gathered over 70 outstanding students from the USA, UK and Europe.
In the summer 2007 was have launched a new program Summer School on Cultural Dimensions of Politics in Europe and last year we have prepared a new Summer School on China: A World Superpower- Myth or Reality.
On the 2nd of January 2006, the Center for Public Policy launched its first training project called "Training of Social Services Providers in the Area of Crime Prevention and Social Inclusion of Youth". The project is funded by the European Social Fund, the Czech National Budget and the Municipality of Prague and is being implemented in partnership with the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention in Prague and Professor Tim Hope, Department of Criminology, Keele University, UK.
In January, 2009 Center for Public Policy in cooperation with the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention in Prague and experts from Finland, Germany, Hungary and UK launched a new training project for pedagogical personell focused on the transfer of good practices of youth crime prevention in schools. The project is funded by the European Social Fund and Czech National Budget.
Both projects were sucessfully completed. The outcomes of trainings could be viewed on www.prevence.cpvp.cz.
